In Person Coaching
An ideal choice for San Diego Residents! We offer a variety of in person training packages to accommodate any pet owners individual needs. Training Retreats are an excellent choice for those who don’t mind not being heavily involved in the early stages of learning, who want major results, or are who are going out of town and needing a place for their dog to be cared for. Accelerated Packages are perfect for dog owners who want to be hands on every step of the way, need fine tuning on work that’s already been done, or are looking to achieve results on a shorter timeline. All packages include access to group class so you can continue to receive coaching and practice what you and you dogs have learned.

Perfect for dog owners and trainers who can’t work with us in person! Our online training platform gives anyone an opportunity to understand how dogs learn and give their dog quality training. We have a variety of packages available to cater to different skillsets and needs. “We thought we were doing the basics correctly but then our dog started to get aggressive on the leash and at times aggressive with other dogs. We like to take him everywhere so this was not only extremely stressful but also extremely concerning. Zack with American Dog Pros was recommended to us. “Where to begin? My wife and I have always enjoyed adopting from boxer rescue groups. We’ve had plenty of experience training our past dogs to include our first boxer who was deaf. So, when our recent adoption popped up that he was deaf we felt it was the perfect fit. Let’s just say, we met our match. Sadly, the previous owners who had him for the first year of his life spent no quality time training him and locked him into a kennel for 16 hours per day. This led to him being anxious and high strung in situations that most dogs wouldn’t. So, we decided to hire on the American Dog Pros. Being impressed simply wouldn’t fully express the immediate results we saw after each session. The trainers are polite, personable and professional. I was able to see them coexist with cats, be able to “place”, coexist with other dogs, and not be reactive when seeing other dogs. lauren m 2021-11-26 We rescued our cattle dog and when we got her home she was very aggressive to other animals, people, skateboards, cars you name it. I had called a well known training place near our home and was told she’s untrainable. They offered to come to our house and show us how to lock her in a kennel in the garage any time we had people over. That’s when someone recommended we contact Zack. Zack evaluated Callie and was confident he could help us. Within a couple of weeks she was a completely different dog. Since then Callie has passed her AKC canine good citizen test and was certified a therapy dog. She is the most loving sweet dog and we love her so much. We are so thankful we found Zack! 
Kim Cal 2021-11-21 Zack was a great help with our dogs. I was unable to walk both dogs by myself due to constant pulling. After training, I can now walk them both by myself. We learned so much. We took our dog to them for board and train and zak did amazing with her, and even spent extra days with her after her 2 weeks. And especially knowing how sensitive and nervous she is, she came back a completely different dog. And now she’s a lot more confident and e collar trained! And us as handlers are more confident as well! Very very happy Zak is her trainer. Best in north county!! We can’t thank American dog pros enough. Kristie Burke 2021-11-20 We were in over our heads with our Aussie Shepherd mix, Ellie Eldo. She had a rough start, most likely mistreated before she was abandoned on the side of a road around 5 months. Ellie was terrified of people, and let us know with constant barking and timid body language. She was nervous all times, and it impacted our lives. We could not go anywhere, have anyone over, and our daily walks were an absolute mess for everyone. Not going to lie ..there were times I wondered if we had made a mistake.
We worked with a personal trainer and invested in positive treat rewards. Ellie grew in confidence, but she wasn't treat motivated and it felt like two steps forward, one step back for months. Finally, we made the decision to get help from Zack and ADP. We looked everywhere and to be honest, many different companies told me that Ellie couldn't be helped. They said she was too reactive and anxious. Not Zack. He knew he could help her .
The facility is beautiful and clean, and Ellie had tons of space of her own and shared. So many other companies keep your dog in cramped spaces. I just couldn't get behind that. ADP has acres and acres.
Zack helped Ellie become less fearful of people, and less focused on distractions. After three weeks, she was not only walking in leash like a perfect companion, but she was able to be around other people without fear or barking. Ellie's recall is phenomenal. She returns instantly when called. We kept up with her training and now she is always off leash, always at attention and such a sweet girl.
Ellie still doesn't trust people entirely, so it's our job to keep her safe. No pets from strangers, but our lives are back. She comes hiking, climbing, walking, skiing with us without any issues. We use her e-collar every day, and it's been life changing. A lot of people ask me why we spent money on a board and train instead of just buying and using an e-collar on our own. The fact is, Zack is a professional. He trained her then trained US on how to utilize this tool to help Ellie Eldo live her best life. Now I can't imagine my life without her.
6 months later, she is thriving. Best decision we ever made. 
Brian Casco 2021-11-20 I found Zack and American Dog Pros while scrolling through TikTok and decided to take my Belgian Malinois puppy to him. Not only is Zack very knowledgeable of the breed but he is very passionate about training and providing the best life for both the dog and the owner. Zack was always available via phone for assistance when not in an in person training session. He was also always willing to meet in locations nearer to me to help me out with the longer drive I had to make to attend our training sessions. One of the things that really stood out to me, was when it was time for me to invest some money into some equipment for the next step in our training. I was a broke college student at the time and didn’t have the money readily available. Zack willingly offered to front the equipment for me and I could pay him back! I’ve never met someone as genuine and passionate. He quickly eliminated nuisance behaviors and provided the necessary guidance so that both, my pup and I, would live happy lives. I would highly recommend and would take any dogs I own in the future to him. 
Katie Gilmer 2021-11-19 I couldn’t recommend anyone more!! I found their profile through social media in early 2020 in the middle of the pandemic and right from the beginning they were both so responsive and professional! Within days they were meeting Ringo and I for a consultation and then taking him for boarding. Ringo was a 10mo old cattle dog mix who was nervous, anxious and reactive to pretty much everything. He stayed with Zack and Amy for 4 weeks and when I got him back I couldn’t believe the difference! Not only was he so much more obedient, I could already tell he seemed more relaxed around things that used to trigger him! They then spent weeks working with Ringo and I together to make sure I had the tools to keep him going in the right direction! Eventually we moved on to group classes and those were just as great! If there was ever a time I had a question or noticed something with Ringo I wanted to work on more they were always up for it! I can without a doubt say Ringo would not be the happy confident dog he is today without them!
